Ingredients
Scale
- 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 oz feta cheese (preferably block-style)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ¼ cup chopped toasted pecans
- 2–3 tablespoons hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
- Fresh thyme leaves or rosemary, for garnish
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional Hot Honey (Homemade)
- ½ cup honey
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Baguette: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp. Cool slightly.
- Make the Whipped Feta: In a food processor, blend feta, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and honey until smooth and fluffy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Prepare Hot Honey (if homemade): In a small saucepan, warm honey with red pepper flakes for 2–3 minutes. Add apple cider vinegar for a tangy twist, then cool slightly.
- Assemble the Crostinis: Spread whipped feta over each toasted baguette slice. Drizzle with hot honey, sprinkle toasted pecans, and garnish with thyme or rosemary.
- Serve: Arrange on a platter and serve immediately, or refrigerate and serve chilled within a few hours.
Notes
- Use block feta for the creamiest, richest texture.
- Adjust spice level by reducing or increasing chili flakes in hot honey.
- Toast pecans lightly for enhanced nutty flavor.
- Whipped feta can be made up to two days ahead.
- Add festive garnishes like pomegranate seeds or cranberries for color.
