  • Author: Lyndy

Description

If you love cozy, cinnamon-sugar flavors and buttery baked pastries, then these Warm Cinnamon Crescent Twists will become your new favorite treat

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)

Optional glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Step 2: Prepare the cinnamon sugar mixture
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Stir until evenly mixed. This will be your filling.

Step 3: Unroll and layer the dough
Open the can of crescent dough and separate it into rectangles (each consisting of two connected triangles). Press the seams together to seal. You should have four rectangles total.

Step 4: Brush and sprinkle
Brush each rectangle with melted butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over two of the rectangles. Place the other two rectangles on top to sandwich the filling.

Step 5: Cut and twist
Using a knife or pizza cutter, slice each filled rectangle into 4–5 strips lengthwise. Twist each strip gently a few times and place on your baking sheet.

Step 6: Bake
Bake the twists in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.

Step 7: Add glaze (optional)
While the twists are baking, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl to form a smooth glaze. Once the twists are out of the oven and slightly cooled, drizzle with glaze for extra sweetness.

Step 8: Serve and enjoy
Serve warm for the best texture and flavor. They’re flakiest fresh from the oven but just as enjoyable later.

Notes

Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup a breeze.

Don’t overstuff with filling. A light, even layer of cinnamon sugar ensures the dough seals well and twists neatly.

For extra crispiness, brush the tops with a little melted butter before baking.

Keep an eye on baking time—crescent dough browns quickly. Rotate the pan halfway through for even color.

Want a richer flavor? Add a pinch of nutmeg or a dash of cardamom to the cinnamon mixture for a subtle twist.
