- 2 cups boiled and mashed potatoes (about 3 medium-sized potatoes)
- ½ cup finely chopped onion
- ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons chickpea flour (or oat flour)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons oil (for brushing)
- Optional: ½ cup cooked green peas
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes until tender, then peel and mash while still warm.
- In a large bowl, mix mashed potatoes, onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, and ginger.
- Add turmeric, cumin, coriander powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well.
- Add chickpea flour to bind the mixture. Adjust with more flour if it feels sticky.
- Divide into equal portions, shape into balls, and flatten into patties.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a tray with parchment paper.
- Brush the tray lightly with oil, place patties on the tray, and brush tops with a little oil.
- Bake for 15 minutes, flip, and bake another 10–15 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Serve hot with chutney or dairy-free yogurt.

- Don’t over-mash potatoes to avoid a gummy texture.
