Description
Looking for a simple, satisfying dinner that checks all the boxes—quick, delicious, and kid-approved? These Cheeseburger Pockets are exactly what your weeknight dinner routine needs.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon ketchup or mustard (optional for flavor)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional ketchup or mustard. Stir well to combine and remove from heat.
- Add cheese: Stir shredded cheddar into the warm beef mixture.
- Prepare the dough: Unroll crescent dough and separate into rectangles by sealing two triangles together at the seams. You should have four rectangles.
- Fill the pockets: Scoop 2–3 tablespoons of beef mixture onto one half of each rectangle. Fold over the other half and press edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
- Optional egg wash: Whisk the egg and brush the tops of each pocket for a shiny, golden crust.
- Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Cool slightly and serve.
Notes
Don’t overfill—too much beef can cause leaks
Seal edges tightly to avoid cheese oozing out
Use parchment paper for easy cleanup
Brush with egg wash for a bakery-style finish
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving—they’ll be hot!
