Description
If you’re craving a dessert that’s fruity, chewy, and decadently sweet, look no further than these Cherry Coconut Magic Bars.
Ingredients
1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup white chocolate chips
¾ cup chopped maraschino cherries (drained and patted dry)
1½ cups sweetened shredded coconut
½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease lightly.
- Make the crust: In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Stir until well coated, then press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Add the layers: Pour sweetened condensed milk over the crust and spread evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, chopped cherries, and pecans (if using) evenly across the top. Finish with shredded coconut.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the coconut is lightly toasted.
- Cool completely in the pan before slicing. For cleaner cuts, refrigerate for 30 minutes once cooled to room temperature.
Notes
Drain and pat dry the cherries to avoid excess moisture in the bars
Press the crust firmly into the pan so it doesn’t crumble when sliced
Cool completely before cutting to prevent gooey messes
Use a serrated knife for the cleanest cuts
For extra flavor, lightly toast the coconut before adding to the top layer
