Description
If you’re the kind of person who believes there’s no such thing as too much chocolate, then this Hot Fudge Pie is your dream come true.
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter (113g), melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (25g)
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour (30g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your 9-inch pie pan with butter or nonstick spray.
In a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan, melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
Add the sugar and eggs to the melted butter and whisk until smooth and glossy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until fully combined. The batter will be thick and glossy.
Pour the batter into the prepared pie pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly. A toothpick inserted near the center should come out with moist crumbs.
Let the pie cool for at least 10–15 minutes before slicing. It’s best served warm but can also be cooled and reheated.
Notes
- Don’t overbake: The center should look just a bit underdone when you take it out of the oven. It will continue to set as it cools.
- Use high-quality cocoa powder: This makes a big difference in the depth of flavor.
- Serve warm: The gooey texture shines when the pie is freshly baked or gently reheated.
