Description

If you’re searching for the ultimate dessert to impress your guests or satisfy your deepest chocolate craving, look no further than this Rich & Decadent Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pie Filling:

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (340g) light corn syrup
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup (30g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1½ cups (180g) chopped pecans
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

For the Crust:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place your pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Set it aside while you prepare the filling.

Step 2: Mix the Filling

In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, and melted butter until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the flour, vanilla, and salt until fully combined.

Step 3: Add the Pecans and Chocolate

Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips. Stir until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 4: Fill the Pie Crust

Pour the filling mixture into the prepared pie crust. Smooth the top gently with a spatula. If desired, arrange whole pecan halves on top for decoration.

Step 5: Bake

Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 55–60 minutes, or until the center is set and slightly puffed. If the crust is browning too quickly, loosely cover the edges with foil during the last 20 minutes.

Step 6: Cool and Serve

Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack. This helps the filling set and makes slicing easier. Serve at room temperature or slightly warmed for best results.

Notes

  • Room temperature eggs and butter: This helps everything blend more smoothly.
  • Don’t overbake: The center should jiggle slightly when done. It will continue to firm up as it cools.
  • Rest before slicing: Letting the pie sit allows the filling to fully set—don’t rush it!
