Ingredients
Scale
- 1 French baguette, sliced
- Olive oil, for brushing
- 8 oz feta cheese (block-style preferred)
- 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt or cream cheese
- Fresh lemon juice (from 1/2 lemon)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
- Crushed red pepper flakes, for garnish
- Hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
- Optional toppings: chopped pistachios, fresh herbs, or pomegranate seeds
Instructions
- Toast the Crostini: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush baguette slices with olive oil and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake for 7–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Whip the Feta: In a food processor, combine feta, Greek yogurt (or cream cheese), lemon juice, garlic, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble: Spread whipped feta generously onto each toasted crostini.
- Add Hot Honey: Drizzle hot honey over the feta and finish with crushed red pepper flakes.
- Garnish & Serve: Add optional toppings if desired and serve immediately while crostini are crisp.
Notes
- Use block feta instead of pre-crumbled for best texture and flavor.
- Let feta come to room temperature before blending for easier whipping.
- Toast crostini just before serving to keep them crispy.
- Adjust spice by adding more or less hot honey or chili flakes.
- Store whipped feta separately and assemble just before serving.
