Strawberry Dirty Sprite : A Sparkling Summer Sip

Description

Nothing says summer quite like a cold, fruity drink in hand. And when it comes to easy-to-make, crowd-pleasing refreshers, few drinks hit the spot like a Strawberry Dirty Sprite.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
2 tablespoons strawberry syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 can (12 oz) lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite)
Ice cubes
Strawberries and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

1. Muddle the Strawberries
In a cocktail shaker or sturdy glass, muddle the sliced strawberries until they’re broken down into a chunky puree. If you like your drink smoother, you can strain the mixture—but leaving the bits in adds texture and flavor.

2. Add Flavor
Pour in the strawberry syrup and lime juice. Stir or shake well to combine. The syrup enhances the strawberry flavor and brings a lovely ruby color to the drink.

3. Pour Over Ice
Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes. Divide the strawberry mixture evenly between them.

4. Add the Soda
Top each glass with lemon-lime soda. Pour slowly to preserve the fizz and create a layered, sparkling look.

5. Garnish and Serve
Garnish with a strawberry slice, a lime wedge, or even a mint sprig. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy!

Notes

Strawberry puree and syrup mix can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge
Only add soda just before serving to preserve fizz
Freeze strawberry puree in ice cube trays for easy mix-ins later
