Description

This spooky 7-layer Halloween taco dip is a festive and delicious party centerpiece. With creamy layers, fresh toppings, and a creepy spider web garnish, it’s quick to make, fun to serve, and perfect for Halloween potlucks or family nights.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Layers:

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa or pico de gallo
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (2.25 oz) sliced black olives
  • 3 green onions, sliced

Toppings & Garnishes:

  • Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Tortilla chips or fresh veggie sticks for serving

Spider Web Decoration:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 small plastic spider (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Layers: In a medium bowl, mix refried beans with taco seasoning. Spread in the bottom of a dish as the first layer. Then layer sour cream, guacamole, salsa, shredded cheese, black olives, and green onions.
  2. Assemble the Dip: Smooth each layer gently with a spatula to keep them even. Reserve a little sour cream for the spider web.
  3. Add the Spider Web & Garnish: Place reserved sour cream in a piping bag or plastic bag with a small corner snipped. Pipe concentric circles, then drag a toothpick outward from the center to create a web. Add a plastic spider if desired.
  4. Serve: Serve with tortilla chips, veggie sticks, or crackers and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a healthier version, use light sour cream and reduced-fat cheese.
  • Serve with fresh vegetables for dipping instead of chips.
  • Make ahead up to 4 hours; add spider web just before serving.
  • For gluten-free: use certified gluten-free taco seasoning and chips.
  • Leftovers keep in the fridge up to 2 days; guacamole may brown slightly.
