Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon

  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Mix the coating: In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. In another bowl, whisk egg whites and vanilla until frothy.
  2. Coat the pecans: Add pecans to the egg white mixture and stir until evenly coated. Sprinkle in sugar mixture and toss until fully covered.
  3. Slow cook: Spray the slow cooker with nonstick spray. Add coated pecans, cover, and cook on low for 3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
  4. Final gloss: In the last 30 minutes, drizzle water over pecans and stir to create a glossy coating.
  5. Cool and store: Spread pecans on parchment paper to cool completely before storing.
