- 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried thyme)
- 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven & Prepare the Potatoes
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Make the Cream Sauce
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and nutmeg over medium heat.
- Bring to a gentle simmer (do not boil) and let it infuse for 5 minutes.
3. Layer the Sweet Potatoes
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Arrange a layer of sweet potatoes, slightly overlapping.
- Pour a portion of the cream sauce over the layer.
- Repeat until all potatoes and sauce are used.
4. Add Cheese (Optional)
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top for a golden, bubbly crust.

- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for another 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and potatoes are tender.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
✔ Slice Evenly – Use a mandoline for uniform thickness.
✔ Don’t Skip the Resting Time – Allows the sauce to thicken.
✔ Adjust Seasonings – Taste the cream sauce before pouring.
✔ Cover While Baking – Prevents the top from burning before potatoes soften.
