Description

Looking for a breakfast that’s indulgent, portable, and packed with flavor? These Sausage French Toast Roll-Ups are everything you could want in a morning meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 10 slices of soft white bread (crusts removed)
  • 10 fully cooked breakfast sausage links
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)

For Cooking & Serving:

  • 12 tablespoons butter (for frying)
  • Maple syrup or honey, for dipping
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread
Cut the crusts off each slice of bread. Use a rolling pin to flatten the bread slices into thin squares.
  2. Add the Sausage and Roll Up
Place one sausage link at the bottom of each bread slice. Roll it up tightly, pressing the edge to seal. Set seam-side down while you roll the rest.
  3. Make the Egg Mixture
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar (if using).
  4. Dip and Cook
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt butter. Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, coating all sides. Place seam-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 2–3 minutes per side, turning until all sides are golden and crisp.
  5. Serve Warm
Serve with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Use soft sandwich bread—it’s easiest to flatten and roll. Fully cooked sausage links save time and ensure even cooking. Seal well by pressing the edges of the bread to prevent unrolling during cooking. Don’t soak too long—a quick dip in the egg mixture is enough to coat without getting soggy. Cook over medium heat to ensure the inside is warm before the outside burns. These tips ensure that every roll-up is golden on the outside and perfectly cooked inside.
