Prosciutto and Honey Burrata Pizza : A Sweet and Savory Winter Delight

  • Author: Lyndy
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 1 pizza 1x

Description

This Prosciutto and Honey Burrata Pizza combines the rich, creamy texture of burrata with the savory saltiness of prosciutto and the sweetness of honey. Perfect for a winter dinner or a holiday party, this gourmet pizza offers the ideal balance of flavors, making it a showstopper at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough ball (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • ½ cup tomato sauce (optional, depending on preference)
  • 1 ball of burrata cheese
  • 4 oz prosciutto
  • 2 tablespoons honey (preferably mild honey like clover or acacia)
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Dough: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating for a crispy crust. Roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
  2. Brush with Olive Oil: Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Brush the dough with olive oil and, if using, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce.
  3. Bake the Pizza Base: Bake the pizza base in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and firm.
  4. Add Burrata and Prosciutto: Remove the pizza from the oven. Tear the burrata into chunks and evenly distribute it over the pizza. Gently fold the prosciutto into pieces and scatter it across the pizza.
  5. Drizzle with Honey: Drizzle the honey generously over the burrata and prosciutto.
  6. Bake Again and Garnish: Return the pizza to the oven for another 3–5 minutes to warm the burrata and crisp the prosciutto. Garnish with fresh basil, sea salt, and freshly cracked black pepper.
  7. Slice and Serve: Allow the pizza to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality burrata for the best creamy texture.
  • If using tomato sauce, apply sparingly to not overpower the delicate flavors of the burrata and prosciutto.
  • Watch the prosciutto carefully to avoid over-crisping.
  • For a more robust flavor, try balsamic glaze instead of honey.
