Description

Easy Maple Walnut Fudge combines the rich flavor of maple syrup with the crunch of walnuts, creating a creamy and irresistible treat. This recipe includes a stovetop version, a quick microwave option, and a maple walnut fudge variation with marshmallow cream for extra smoothness.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Maple Walnut Fudge (Stovetop Version):

  • 2 cups of maple syrup (preferably pure)
  • 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tbsp of butter
  • 1 ½ cups of chopped walnuts (toasted if desired)
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt (optional, to balance the sweetness)

For the Microwave Maple Walnut Fudge:

  • 1 cup of maple syrup
  • ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • ¾ cup of walnuts
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

For Maple Walnut Fudge with Marshmallow Cream:

  • 2 cups of maple syrup
  • 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tbsp of butter
  • 1 cup of marshmallow cream
  • 1 ½ cups of chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Fudge Base (Stovetop Version): In a medium saucepan, combine the maple syrup, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir constantly over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Boil the Mixture: Once the butter has melted, increase the heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Allow it to boil for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously. The mixture will begin to thicken.
  3. Add Walnuts: Remove the pan from heat and stir in the walnuts and vanilla extract. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
  4. Set the Fudge: Pour the fudge into a greased baking dish or one lined with parchment paper. Let it cool at room temperature for about 1 hour, or refrigerate to speed up the process.
  5. Microwave Version: For the microwave version, combine the maple syrup, sweetened condensed milk, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway through. Then, stir in the walnuts and vanilla extract, pour into a greased pan, and refrigerate for 1 hour until set.
  6. Marshmallow Cream Version: For a creamier fudge, add marshmallow cream to the stovetop base once the other ingredients have melted. Stir well to combine, add walnuts, and cook for 2 more minutes. Pour into the pan and set as described above.

Notes

  • Use pure maple syrup for the best flavor.
  • Toast walnuts before adding them for an extra flavor boost.
  • Allow fudge to cool completely before cutting for a cleaner presentation.
