Description
Looking for a creative and adorable way to make Easter morning extra special? Learn how to make Easter Bunny pancakes—a fun and festive breakfast that’s guaranteed to bring big smiles to little faces!
Ingredients
For the Pancakes (makes about 4 bunny servings):
- 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1¼ cups (300ml) milk (any type)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Toppings and Decorations:
- Banana slices (for feet pads and cheeks)
- Blueberries or chocolate chips (for eyes)
- Strawberry slices (for ears or bow ties)
- Mini marshmallows or whipped cream (for the fluffy tail)
- Chocolate syrup or Nutella (for whiskers or smiles)
- Pancake syrup or honey for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pancake Batter
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until just blended. Don’t overmix—it’s okay if the batter is slightly lumpy.
Step 2: Cook the Pancakes
Heat your griddle or skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with oil or butter. Pour small amounts of batter to make different parts of the bunny:
- 1 large circle for the body
- 1 medium circle for the head
- 2 oval shapes for the ears
- 2 small circles for the feet
Cook for about 2 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through.
Step 3: Assemble the Bunny
On a plate, place the large pancake as the bunny’s body. Above that, add the medium pancake for the head. Attach the ears on top. Place the two small feet pancakes at the bottom. Use banana slices and blueberries for the paw pads and eyes. Add a marshmallow or whipped cream for the tail.
Step 4: Decorate and Serve
Get creative! Use syrup to draw whiskers or smiles, place strawberry hearts for cheeks or bow ties, and serve immediately. Let the kids help decorate their own bunny for added fun.
Notes
- Pre-measure ingredients ahead of time so kids can easily mix them together.
- Use squeeze bottles to control batter shapes on the griddle.
- Supervise around heat—let younger children decorate cooled pancakes instead of cooking.
- Use fun names and food humor like “fluffy tail marshmallow” or “banana bunny paws.”
