Hot Honey Feta Chicken : Crispy & Creamy

If you love crispy chicken, tangy feta, and a hint of sweet heat, this Hot Honey Feta Chicken is the perfect recipe for you!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • ½ cup (60g) panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup (60g) feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

For the Hot Honey:

  • ¼ cup (60ml) honey
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Fresh parsley or basil
  • Extra crumbled feta
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and use a meat mallet or rolling pin to gently pound them to an even thickness (about ½ inch thick).

Step 2: Season and Bread the Chicken

Season both sides of the chicken with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

Set up a dredging station with three shallow bowls:

  1. Flour in the first bowl.
  2. Beaten egg in the second bowl.
  3. Panko breadcrumbs mixed with crumbled feta in the third bowl.

Dip each chicken breast into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat it with the panko-feta mixture, pressing gently to ensure it sticks.

Step 3: Cook the Chicken

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a plate and let it rest.

Step 4: Make the Hot Honey

In a small saucepan, heat honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar over low heat for 1-2 minutes until warm and slightly runny. Remove from heat.

Step 5: Drizzle and Serve

Drizzle the hot honey over the crispy chicken. Garnish with extra feta, fresh parsley, and lemon wedges. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Pound the Chicken Evenly – Ensures even cooking and tenderness.
Use Panko for Extra Crunch – Gives the best crispy coating.
Don’t Overheat the Honey – Just warm it enough to blend the flavors.
