Irresistible Honey Glazed Salmon – A Sweet and Savory Delight

  • Author: Lyndy
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Honey Glazed Salmon combines the richness of fresh salmon with a perfectly balanced glaze of honey, garlic, and soy sauce. It’s quick, easy, and delivers a sweet and savory punch with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Honey Garlic Glaze:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger (optional for added flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for thinning the glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease with olive oil.
  2. Prepare the salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Make the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, and lemon juice. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally. If desired, add ground ginger for extra flavor. Remove from heat.
  4. Sear the salmon: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon, skin-side down, and sear for 3–4 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  5. Apply the glaze: Pour half of the glaze over the salmon and coat evenly using a basting brush.
  6. Bake the salmon: Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes or until salmon flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature of 145°F/63°C).
  7. Serve: Drizzle the remaining glaze over the salmon. Garnish with fresh herbs, like parsley or chives, and serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the salmon: Salmon cooks quickly. Check for doneness by ensuring the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  • Make it spicier: Add red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha to the glaze for a spicy kick.
  • Try different glazes: Swap the honey for maple syrup or experiment with a balsamic glaze for different flavors.
