Description
This Honey Glazed Salmon combines the richness of fresh salmon with a perfectly balanced glaze of honey, garlic, and soy sauce. It’s quick, easy, and delivers a sweet and savory punch with every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Salmon:
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Honey Garlic Glaze:
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger (optional for added flavor)
- 1 tablespoon water (for thinning the glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease with olive oil.
- Prepare the salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper to taste.
- Make the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, and lemon juice. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally. If desired, add ground ginger for extra flavor. Remove from heat.
- Sear the salmon: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon, skin-side down, and sear for 3–4 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- Apply the glaze: Pour half of the glaze over the salmon and coat evenly using a basting brush.
- Bake the salmon: Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes or until salmon flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature of 145°F/63°C).
- Serve: Drizzle the remaining glaze over the salmon. Garnish with fresh herbs, like parsley or chives, and serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Don’t overcook the salmon: Salmon cooks quickly. Check for doneness by ensuring the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Make it spicier: Add red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha to the glaze for a spicy kick.
- Try different glazes: Swap the honey for maple syrup or experiment with a balsamic glaze for different flavors.
