Juicy shrimp, smoked sausage, and crisp broccoli are tossed in a sticky honey garlic sauce for the ultimate sweet-savory meal. Perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep, or a healthy takeout alternative, this one-pan dish is family-friendly and endlessly versatile.

Ingredients

Scale

For the sauce:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

For the main dish:

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 10 oz smoked sausage (chicken or turkey), sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic. Set aside.
  2. Sauté the sausage: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook sausage slices until browned (5–6 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the shrimp: In the same skillet, add shrimp. Cook 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. Sauté the broccoli: Add broccoli with a splash of water. Cover and steam 2–3 minutes, then sauté until crisp-tender.
  5. Combine: Return shrimp and sausage to the skillet. Pour in the honey garlic sauce and stir well.
  6. Thicken: Add the cornstarch slurry, stir, and cook 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and glazes everything.
  7. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice.

Notes

  • Use tail-off shrimp for easier eating.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when cooking shrimp or sausage — work in batches if needed.
  • Steam broccoli lightly so it stays bright and slightly crunchy.
  • For heat, add chili flakes or a drizzle of sriracha to the sauce.
  • Perfect for meal prep — stores well and reheats beautifully.
