Description
Halloween Popcorn is a spooky, sweet, and crunchy treat perfect for movie nights, parties, or trick-or-treat fun. With its vibrant green glaze, candy eyeballs, and festive toppings, this easy-to-make snack is always a hit with kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
50g popcorn kernels (about 6 cups popped) 1 tablespoon butter (plus more for greasing) 100g caster sugar 2 tablespoons golden syrup (or light corn syrup) Green gel food coloring (as needed) Optional add-ins: Candy eyeballs Mini marshmallows Halloween sprinkles Candy corn or gummy worms
Instructions
1. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add popcorn kernels, cover, and shake occasionally until popping slows. Transfer to a bowl and remove unpopped kernels. 2. In a small saucepan, heat sugar and golden syrup over medium, stirring until dissolved and bubbling. Remove from heat and stir in green food coloring. 3. Quickly pour the syrup over the popcorn and stir to coat evenly. Work fast before the syrup hardens. 4. Spread coated popcorn on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let cool for about 10 minutes. 5. Add candy eyes, sprinkles, and other toppings once cooled. Serve or store in an airtight container.
Notes
Use gel food coloring for bold color without thinning the syrup. Grease your spatula to make mixing easier. Decorate after the popcorn has cooled to prevent melting. Shape into popcorn balls before it hardens for a fun variation. Best enjoyed within 3 days for maximum crunch.
