Description

Halloween Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with festive candies and chocolate chips. Perfect for spooky parties, trick-or-treat trays, or fun fall snacks—these easy cookies are always a hit with kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups (330g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (270g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (200g) Halloween-colored M&Ms or candy-coated chocolate pieces
  • Optional: Candy eyeballs, Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars in a large bowl until fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and most of the M&Ms, reserving some for topping.
  7. Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon-sized balls and place on the baking sheet.
  8. Decorate with remaining candies, sprinkles, and candy eyeballs.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake; cookies should look slightly underdone in the center.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and overbrowning.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies if desired.
  • Customize with candy eyes, themed sprinkles, or Halloween Oreos.
