			For the Shortbread Crust:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups gluten-free 1:1 baking flour
For the Pecan Topping:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons gluten-free flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat & prepare crust: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment or lightly grease. Mix melted butter, sugar, and salt. Stir in flour to form a crumbly dough. Press into pan and bake 18–20 minutes until edges are golden.
- Make filling: In a saucepan, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar and maple syrup. Let bubble lightly 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir in flour, salt, and pecans.
- Assemble & bake: Spread pecan mixture evenly over crust. Return to oven and bake 20–22 minutes until set and bubbly. Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Cool fully before slicing for neat bars.
- Use a metal pan for even baking.
- Toast pecans beforehand for extra flavor.
- Do not overbake—the filling should stay gooey.
