- 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- If your shrimp aren’t already peeled and deveined, do so now. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
- Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss them well in the garlic mixture until they’re fully coated.
- Spread the coated shrimp in a single layer on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the shrimp.
- Bake the shrimp in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.
- Once done, remove from the oven and drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Don’t Overcook: Shrimp cook quickly. Overcooking them will make them tough and rubbery, so be sure to keep an eye on the timer.
- Use Fresh Garlic: Fresh garlic adds a much more aromatic flavor than garlic powder or pre-minced garlic.
- Broil for Extra Crispiness: For an extra crispy texture, you can switch the oven to broil during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking. Just be sure to watch them closely so they don’t burn.
