Description

Garlic Parmesan Baked Shrimp is a quick, flavorful dish that combines succulent shrimp with savory garlic, Parmesan, and a buttery sauce. With minimal prep and a short cooking time, this dish is perfect for weeknights or entertaining guests. Serve with pasta, rice, or a salad for a complete meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. If your shrimp aren’t already peeled and deveined, do so now. Pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
  4. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss them well in the garlic mixture until they’re fully coated.
  5. Spread the coated shrimp in a single layer on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the shrimp.
  6. Bake the shrimp in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven and drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t Overcook: Shrimp cook quickly. Overcooking them will make them tough and rubbery, so be sure to keep an eye on the timer.
  • Use Fresh Garlic: Fresh garlic adds a much more aromatic flavor than garlic powder or pre-minced garlic.
  • Broil for Extra Crispiness: For an extra crispy texture, you can switch the oven to broil during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking. Just be sure to watch them closely so they don’t burn.
