Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- Melt the Butter: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and whisk in sugars and vanilla until smooth.
- Add Eggs: Whisk in eggs one at a time until glossy and combined.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine and Bake: Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely.
- Make Frosting: Beat butter and cocoa powder until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk, then mix in vanilla and salt until fluffy.
- Frost and Decorate: Spread frosting over cooled brownies. Cut into triangles for Christmas trees and decorate with green frosting, pretzel trunks, and sprinkles.
