Description
When it comes to comfort food, nothing beats a hot, savory sandwich packed with juicy beef, melty cheese, and flaky biscuits
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (16.3-ounce) can of refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 1 pound deli-style roast beef, thinly sliced
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can French onion soup
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can beef consommé
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the biscuits: Separate the biscuit dough and cut each biscuit in half horizontally, creating 16 thin rounds. Flatten each slightly with your hand.
- Assemble the layers: Place 8 of the biscuit halves on the prepared baking sheet. Top each with a slice of roast beef, half a slice of provolone, and then the top half of the biscuit. Press the edges gently to seal.
- Brush with garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and parsley. Brush over the tops of the assembled biscuits.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melty inside.
- Prepare the dip: While the biscuits are baking, combine the French onion soup and beef consommé in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until warmed through.
- Serve hot with au jus on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Use thin-sliced roast beef for easy layering and even cooking.
- Seal the biscuit edges by pressing gently around the sides so the cheese doesn’t escape.
- Watch your oven temperature—an oven thermometer can ensure accuracy for golden brown tops.
- Brush with garlic butter just before baking for extra flavor and a beautiful golden sheen.
