  • Yield: 20 cookies 1x

Description

Flourless Chocolate Crinkle Cookies are rich, fudgy, and naturally gluten-free — the perfect guilt-free holiday treat! With a crackly powdered sugar coating and soft brownie-like centers, these cookies deliver indulgent chocolate flavor without flour or excess sugar. They’re quick to make, irresistibly chewy, and ideal for anyone craving a light yet decadent Christmas dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
    • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
    • 1 cup (100g) unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 2 large eggs
    • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (or ¼ cup almond meal)
    • ½ teaspoon baking powder
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • ½ cup (90g) dark chocolate chips, melted
    • ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar, for rolling

  • Optional add-ins: mini chocolate chips, espresso powder, or chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a bowl, whisk eggs, vanilla, and melted chocolate until smooth.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Stir in sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt until a thick dough forms.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up the dough and help create crinkles.
  5. Shape: Scoop 1-inch balls of dough, roll in powdered sugar, and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, until tops are cracked and edges are set but centers remain soft.
  7. Cool: Let cookies rest on the tray for a few minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for defined crinkles.
  • Use high-quality cocoa powder for deep chocolate flavor.
  • Don’t overbake — the centers should remain soft and fudgy.
  • Roll generously in powdered sugar for a snowy holiday look.
  • Store in airtight containers for up to 5 days or freeze up to 3 months.
