This Easy Kielbasa Appetizer is a sweet, smoky, savory party favorite made with just three simple ingredients. Perfect for holidays, potlucks, tailgates, or quick weeknight snacks, these glazed sausage bites come together fast and always disappear fast.
Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 2 pounds kielbasa sausage, sliced into ½-inch rounds
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup spicy brown mustard (or BBQ sauce for a sweeter variation)
- Optional: A pinch of cayenne or smoked paprika
For Serving:
- Toothpicks or mini skewers
- Optional dipping sauces: mustard, ranch, or BBQ
Instructions
- Slice the sausage: Cut kielbasa into ½-inch rounds.
- Make the glaze: In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and mustard (or BBQ sauce). Heat until sugar melts and sauce thickens slightly.
- Add sausage: Stir in the kielbasa pieces, coating them evenly.
- Simmer: Cook on medium-low for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until glazed.
- Serve: Serve warm with toothpicks or transfer to a slow cooker on “Warm.”
Notes
- Use fully cooked smoked kielbasa for best flavor.
- Stir often to prevent sugar from burning.
- For extra richness, stir in 1 tbsp butter at the end.
- Make a double batch—these disappear fast!
- Variations: Use grape jelly + BBQ, honey mustard glaze, or maple syrup + balsamic.
