Description

If you’re looking for a fun and festive Easter snack, these Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect treat!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 3 tablespoons (42g) unsalted butter
  • 10 oz (283g) mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups (150g) Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Food coloring (pastel shades like pink, yellow, and blue)
  • Easter sprinkles or mini chocolate eggs (optional for decoration)
  • Cooking spray (for shaping)

Instructions

Step 1: Melt the Marshmallows

In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Add the mini marshmallows, stirring until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract (if using).

Step 2: Divide & Color the Mixture

Separate the melted marshmallow mixture into 2-3 bowls. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix well.

Step 3: Mix in the Rice Krispies

Gently fold in Rice Krispies cereal into each colored bowl until evenly coated.

Step 4: Shape the Easter Eggs

  • Using Greased Hands: Spray your hands with cooking spray and shape small portions into egg shapes.
  • Using Plastic Eggs: Lightly grease the inside of a plastic Easter egg and press the mixture inside to mold. Gently remove and place on parchment paper.

Step 5: Decorate

Sprinkle with Easter sprinkles or gently press a mini chocolate egg into each Rice Krispie egg for extra decoration.

Step 6: Let Them Set & Serve

Allow the Easter Rice Krispie Treats to set for 10-15 minutes, then enjoy!

Notes

  • Use fresh marshmallows – This makes the treats extra soft and gooey.
  • Work quickly – The mixture sets fast, so shape your eggs while it’s still warm.
  • Don’t overheat the marshmallows – Melt them over low heat to keep the texture soft.
  • Spray your hands with cooking spray – This prevents the sticky mixture from sticking while shaping.
