If you’re searching for a rich, umami-packed, and slightly spicy sauce to elevate your meals, look no further than Dragon Sauce. This bold, crave-worthy condiment blends sweet, salty, and fiery notes into a smooth, versatile sauce you’ll want to drizzle, dip, and slather on everything.

Ingredients

Scale

    • ½ cup tamari or soy sauce

    • ¼ cup maple syrup or honey

    • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

    • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar

    • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

    • 23 cloves garlic, minced

    • 12 teaspoons sriracha or chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)

    • Optional: 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (for thickening)

Instructions

Step 1: Combine the Ingredients

In a small saucepan over medium heat, add tamari or soy sauce, maple syrup (or honey), sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and your chosen spicy element (sriracha or chili garlic sauce).

Step 2: Simmer Gently

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring often to blend flavors and prevent burning. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes to allow the garlic and ginger to infuse into the sauce.

Step 3: Optional – Thicken the Sauce

If you prefer a thicker sauce, whisk together the cornstarch and water in a separate bowl. Slowly pour it into the simmering sauce while stirring constantly. Simmer for an additional 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 4: Cool and Store

Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Pour into a clean jar or container. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Notes

    • Use Fresh Garlic and Ginger – It makes a big difference in flavor

    • Don’t Skip the Sesame Oil – Adds depth and classic Asian flavor

    • Adjust Spice to Taste – Add more sriracha or chili garlic if you love heat
