Description
If you’ve ever found yourself with a couple of browning bananas and no clue what to do with them, this Easy Pan Fried Cinnamon Bananas Recipe is exactly what you need.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas (not overly mushy; just soft and speckled)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: dash of vanilla extract or maple syrup for extra flavor
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Bananas
Peel and slice your bananas into thick rounds, about ½ inch each. You want slices that are thick enough to hold their shape while frying.
Step 2: Mix the Coating
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
Step 3: Heat the Skillet
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Let it get hot but not smoking.
Step 4: Cook the Bananas
Place banana slices in the skillet in a single layer. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the tops.
Step 5: Flip and Finish
Cook for about 2–3 minutes per side until golden and caramelized. Flip gently with a spatula. Once both sides are browned and the bananas are tender, remove from heat.
Step 6: Serve Warm
Serve immediately while warm and gooey! These bananas are best enjoyed fresh from the skillet.
Notes
- Use medium heat to avoid burning the sugar or butter.
- Don’t overcrowd the pan – fry in batches if needed for even cooking.
- Add vanilla or maple syrup to the butter for extra aroma.
- Sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg for a little more spice.
