  • 45 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenders
  • 1 packet Italian dressing mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (optional, for thinning sauce)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Cooked angel hair pasta or egg noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the raw chicken breasts or tenders into the crock pot.
  2. In a bowl or small saucepan, combine the Italian dressing mix, cream of mushroom soup, butter, and softened cream cheese. Stir until smooth.
  3. Pour the creamy sauce evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker or leave whole, then stir well to coat in sauce.
  6. If needed, stir in chicken broth to thin the sauce to your desired consistency.
  7. Serve hot over cooked angel hair pasta, egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • Already cooked chicken can be used; heat on low for 1–2 hours until warmed through.
  • Soften cream cheese before cooking to avoid lumps.
  • Chicken tenders cook faster and stay extra tender.
  • Add spinach or broccoli during the last hour for extra vegetables.
  • Do not freeze with pasta; freeze chicken and sauce only.
