Description
When it comes to simple yet indulgent desserts, nothing satisfies quite like a Cream Cheese Cake.
Ingredients
1 box yellow or vanilla cake mix (15.25 oz)
1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
Optional: powdered sugar or fruit topping for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, and continue to beat until fully incorporated.
Step 3: Pour in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
Step 4: Gradually add the cake mix to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Step 6: Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 7: Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack or serving directly from the pan.
Step 8: Dust with powdered sugar or top with fresh fruit before serving, if desired.
Notes
- Always bring your cream cheese to room temperature before mixing—it blends much more easily and creates a smoother texture.
- Use full-fat cream cheese for the richest taste and best consistency.
- Do not overmix the batter once the cake mix is added; a few lumps are okay.
