Description

Chocolate Pudding Dirt Cake is a no-bake Halloween dessert layered with creamy pudding, crushed cookies, and gummy worms for a spooky, kid-friendly treat. Perfect for parties, birthdays, or themed gatherings, this dirt cake is fun, customizable, and always a hit with children and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (12 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (14 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos work best)
  • 1 bag gummy worms
  • Optional: candy pumpkins, candy eyes, sprinkles, gummy dinosaurs, or mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make Pudding: In a large bowl, whisk pudding mixes with cold milk until thickened. Chill in the refrigerator.
  2. Crush Cookies: Pulse cookies in a food processor until finely crushed. Or crush in a bag with a rolling pin.
  3. Prepare Cream Mixture: Beat cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Stir mixture into pudding.
  4. Layer: In a 9×13 dish or trifle bowl, layer crushed cookies and pudding mixture, repeating until full. End with cookie crumbs on top.
  5. Decorate: Add gummy worms, candy pumpkins, or themed decorations before serving.

Notes

  • Chill at least 2 hours before serving for best texture.
  • Oreos give the most authentic “dirt” look, but any chocolate sandwich cookie works.
  • Get creative with toppings—add candy bones, toy spiders, or dinosaurs for themes.
  • Make in clear cups or flowerpots for fun presentation ideas.
