Ingredients
Scale
- 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 4 cups cold milk
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 container (12 oz) whipped topping, thawed
- 1 package (14 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos work best)
- 1 bag gummy worms
- Optional: candy pumpkins, candy eyes, sprinkles, gummy dinosaurs, or mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- Make Pudding: In a large bowl, whisk pudding mixes with cold milk until thickened. Chill in the refrigerator.
- Crush Cookies: Pulse cookies in a food processor until finely crushed. Or crush in a bag with a rolling pin.
- Prepare Cream Mixture: Beat cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Stir mixture into pudding.
- Layer: In a 9×13 dish or trifle bowl, layer crushed cookies and pudding mixture, repeating until full. End with cookie crumbs on top.
- Decorate: Add gummy worms, candy pumpkins, or themed decorations before serving.
Notes
- Chill at least 2 hours before serving for best texture.
- Oreos give the most authentic “dirt” look, but any chocolate sandwich cookie works.
- Get creative with toppings—add candy bones, toy spiders, or dinosaurs for themes.
- Make in clear cups or flowerpots for fun presentation ideas.
