Description
This Spicy Schezwan Roti Roll combines smoky Schezwan sauce with fresh sautéed vegetables wrapped in soft roti. A bold Indo-Chinese fusion snack or dinner that’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for weeknights or lunchboxes.

- 4 medium rotis or wraps (whole wheat, plain flour, or tortillas)
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium capsicum (bell pepper), thinly sliced
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 1/2 cup cabbage, shredded
- 2 tablespoons Schezwan sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon oil (for stir-frying veggies)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter or ghee (for toasting rotis)
- Optional: Paneer or tofu strips, grated cheese
Instructions
- Prep veggies: Wash and slice onion, capsicum, carrot, and cabbage.
- Stir-fry: Heat oil in a wok. Sauté onion, then add capsicum, carrot, and cabbage. Stir-fry 2–3 minutes on high flame.
- Flavor: Add Schezwan sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, pepper, and salt. Toss until veggies are coated. Remove from heat.
- Toast rotis: Warm rotis on a tawa, brushing lightly with butter or ghee.
- Assemble: Place veggie mix in the center of each roti. Fold sides and roll tightly. Wrap in foil if packing for later.
- Serve: Cut into halves and enjoy hot with extra Schezwan sauce.

- Use fresh veggies for maximum crunch and flavor.
- Do not overcook vegetables — they should remain crisp.
- Adjust spice level by increasing or reducing Schezwan sauce.
- Toast rotis with butter to prevent cracking while rolling.
