Description

Chicken Thighs in Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce is a rich and flavorful dinner that will become your go-to recipe for tender, juicy chicken thighs. The creamy garlic parmesan sauce coats the chicken perfectly, turning it into a hearty and indulgent meal, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Chicken:
  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (or boneless thighs)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • For the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese (freshly grated is best)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional for added flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Thighs: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken thighs, skin-side down. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy. Flip the chicken and cook for another 6–8 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  3. Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, add the butter (if using) and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the parmesan cheese, thyme, and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce cook for 2–3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  4. Return the Chicken to the Skillet: Return the cooked chicken thighs to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Top the dish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and flavor. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • For the juiciest chicken, let it rest before slicing.
  • Don’t overcook the chicken! Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches the proper internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Use skin-on, bone-in thighs for maximum flavor and moisture.
  • Rest the chicken after cooking for 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
