  • Yield: 68 servings 1x

Description

This Chicken & Stuffing Casserole is the ultimate comfort food. With tender shredded chicken, buttery stuffing, and creamy soup baked into one golden dish, it’s cozy, satisfying, and perfect for both weeknights and holidays. Like a shortcut to Thanksgiving, it delivers flavor and comfort in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of celery soup (or use a second can of cream of chicken)
  • 1 1/4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 (6 oz) box stuffing mix (like Stove Top)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme or poultry seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, and chicken broth until smooth. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Fold in shredded chicken (and optional vegetables or cheese if using). Spread evenly in the prepared dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine stuffing mix with melted butter until moistened. Spoon evenly over chicken mixture.
  5. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until the casserole is bubbling and the top is golden brown. For a softer topping, cover for the first 20 minutes, then uncover.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for extra flavor and convenience.
  • Add cream cheese under the chicken layer for richness.
  • Don’t oversaturate the stuffing—keep it moistened, not soggy.
  • For a crunchier topping, bake a little longer uncovered.
  • Season lightly, as stuffing mix is already salty.
