Description
This Blueberry White Cheddar Grilled Cheese combines creamy white cheddar, juicy blueberries, and tangy blueberry jam between buttery toasted bread. It’s a sweet-and-savory summer sandwich that feels gourmet yet easy enough for quick lunches, brunches, or a fast dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices sourdough or multigrain bread
- 2 oz (60 g) white cheddar cheese, thinly sliced or shredded
- 2 tbsp fresh blueberries
- 1 tbsp blueberry jam
- 1–2 tbsp softened butter (for toasting)
- Optional: Fresh dill or mint for garnish
Instructions
- Prep bread: Butter one side of each slice. Place one slice butter-side down and spread blueberry jam on the inside.
- Add fillings: Layer with white cheddar, fresh blueberries, and optional herbs.
- Assemble: Place second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
- Cook: Heat skillet over medium. Cook sandwich 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted.
- Serve: Rest 30 seconds, then slice diagonally. Garnish with extra blueberries or herbs.
Notes
- Use room-temperature butter for easy spreading.
- Cook low and slow for evenly melted cheese and crispy bread.
- Freshly shredded cheese melts better than packaged.
- Don’t overstuff—balance jam, fruit, and cheese.
- Thick-cut bread prevents sogginess while supporting fillings.
