Description
Biscuits and Gravy Casserole is a warm, comforting breakfast bake made with layers of flaky biscuit dough, creamy sausage gravy, shredded hash browns, cheddar cheese, and fluffy eggs. Perfect for brunches, holidays, or easy meal prep mornings.
Ingredients
1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough 1 lb ground breakfast sausage 1 packet (2.75 oz) sausage gravy mix (or homemade) 2 cups frozen shredded hash browns 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese 1 ½ cups milk 4 large eggs Salt and pepper, to taste Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. 2. In a skillet, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat. 3. Prepare gravy according to package directions or from scratch and combine with cooked sausage. 4. Cut biscuits into quarters and scatter across the bottom of the baking dish. 5. Layer hash browns and shredded cheese over the biscuit pieces. 6. Pour the sausage and gravy mixture evenly over the top. 7. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour this over the casserole. 8. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes or until center is set and top is golden brown. Let cool 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use pre-shredded hash browns or cook them slightly for extra crisp. Shred your own cheese for better melt and flavor. Spice it up with jalapeños or cayenne pepper. Make ahead the night before and bake fresh in the morning. Pairs well with fruit salad or a light smoothie.
