Description

This classic Apple Crisp Recipe is warm, sweet, and comforting — the perfect easy dessert for any occasion. With tender cinnamon-spiced apples under a buttery oat crumble, it’s quick to prep, flexible with fresh or canned apples, and always a crowd-pleaser. Ideal for holidays, weeknights, or whenever you crave a cozy treat!

Ingredients

For the Filling: 8 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (or 2 large cans apple pie filling) ½ cup granulated sugar ¼ cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon ¼ teaspoon nutmeg 1 tablespoon lemon juice For the Topping: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup old-fashioned oats 1 cup brown sugar ½ teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed Optional for serving: Caramel sauce Vanilla ice cream

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. 2. In a bowl, toss apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Spread evenly in the dish. 3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. 4. Sprinkle topping evenly over apples. 5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until apples are tender and topping is golden. 6. Let cool slightly before serving warm with caramel sauce and ice cream if desired.

Notes

• Use a mix of sweet and tart apples like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp for great flavor. • If using canned pie filling, reduce added sugar slightly. • Chill assembled crisp for 15 minutes before baking for a crunchier topping. • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days and reheat before serving.
